2018-2019 Recap
We want to thank you for the support you provided to Bring It! this year. We had an incredible year. We served over 450 students, grades 4-12, from over 15 schools. These students and their families are originally from thirty different countries.
Bring It! represents the different cultures served by the Manchester School District. Your support went a long way to supporting our students. We were able to add and keep Deo Mwano full time as our executive director. With Deo’s help, we secured a three-year partnership with 21st Century through Manchester School District. It was a long process but we made it happen. The funds from the partnership allowed us to hire 4 part-time employees to kick off our program in the fall. Deo and our team worked hard to identify and pursue new grants and partnership opportunities. They helped Bring It! tell our story locally and nationally through social media and live presentations. The success of our students contributes to their families, and the community at large benefits from it, too.
This year we celebrated over 20 Bring It! alumni who graduated from college. We attended a Keene State University graduation with two of our Bring It! students. We have known and worked with these two students since they were in 4th grade. They came to our program religiously until they graduated from high school. They became very active volunteering whenever they were home on break. It was an emotional celebration to see them proudly walk to the podium to receive their diplomas. Their family and friends joined them at the celebration and turned their graduation into a full out dance celebration. It reminded us of why we do what we do. The success of Bring It! is seeing students take ownership and develop the grit they need to pursue their goals and dreams through hard work. The two students both secured full time employment in construction safety prior to graduation. One moved to Denver, Colorado, and the other to Detroit, Michigan. Great job, men!
We appreciate your support and hope you continue to be such a strong and important ally. We would struggle to do this without your support and hope you will continue to support us. Our collaboration continues to successfully serve hundreds of students, their families and our community. Thank you for believing in us and our students and we hope you have a great summer.
Respectfully,
Brendan McCafferty
